IDPA is a shooting sport that is geared towards the new or average shooter, yet is fun, challenging and rewarding for the experienced shooter. IDPA uses practical equipment including full charge service ammunition to solve simulated “Real World” self-defense scenarios.
IDPA events use practical handguns and holsters that are truly suitable for self-defense. No “Competition Only” equipment is used as the main goal is to test and improve the skill and ability of the shooter not their equipment or gamesmanship.
IDPA offers separate divisions to allow shooters with similar firearms and skill levels to compete against each other.
We held our Inaugural IDPA Match at the Kaw Valley Gun Club in Topeka Kansas on April 12th, 2008. We are now a sanctioned IDPA club (One of only four in Kansas) and have several certified IDPA Safty Officers.
We shoot bi-weekly at Godfrey's Range in Junction City and monthly at Corndodger Range, our private outdoor range North of Manhattan. We are also talking about holding matches at other venues around North East Kansas. See the schedule below for all the details.
